Joelle Gives was founded by Joseph Lee,Jr. and Michelle McNeill in 2008. Our vision for Joelle Gives was a way to stop domestic violence in today's home and find a way to help those who may be affected by violence today. As you may know as a child I grew up in an abusive home and the things that I experienced affected my life more than 30 years. In 2009 I wrote and published a book entitled"Growing Up A Witness". Now I wrote this book as a way to explain a young man's trapped feelings growing up as child and how the religion his mom selected affected their relationship for the last 30 years. This book represents his life struggles and how he endured growing up in a violent and abusive home. In writing this book I wanted to find a way that we could help persons who may be experiencing some of the pain and emotional abuse that was featured in this book and how he endured as a child,a young man, and as an adult and how to break the cycle of abuse.
At Joelle Gives we aspire to strengthen each person's confidence and joy and hopefully help those who may be living in or going through Domestic Violence today. Violence actually affects everyone in the family and Michelle and I have lived and planned our lives around helping those going through this today. Young children are especially affected by violence and our hope is that we may help persons that are affected today. We are excited to share our story with many on how we broke the cycle of abuse and became successful individuals in society today.
