Well Morning All, Well today is a rainy day in Washington DC and it happens to be Wednesday what we call Hump Day. I guess they call it hump day because we are finally in the middle of the week after dealing with Monday and Tuesday. Well the dictionary defines "Hump Day" as the middle of a work week (Wednesday); used in the context of climbing a proverbial hill to get through a tough week. So what does that mean to me well it's almost friday... So anyway what does today bring for so many. Well after looking at the news this morning it seems to me the focus has shifted from killing Bin Laden to seeing pictures of his body. So many people have called out to the White House Authorities to release his pictures. This is absolutely crazy. We speak about being non- violent and teaching our kids the same and then you look up and we are asking to see the pain and death of another human being. Well for all of us as we know in another month or so we will totally forget all about this story and move on to the next one. That just happens to be the way that we are taught and it's such a shame. But what about those victims that died on that day in September. How do they live with the pain or hurt of a love one that they lost. Well the Bible teaches us that one day death and pain will be no more. So I indeed look forward to that day. Even though we know what the bible teaches us it seems to be so far away but the bible also teaches us to be faithful for that day will come. In 1John 1:9 it speaks about us being faithful and confessing our sins. So who does this apply to. Does it apply to a certain class of people or a certain religion. Well it states "Whomever confess his sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". So see this applies to everyone for the God we serve is a righteous and forgiving God. I know I may have gotten off the subject a bit but I wanted to share with you how we can come to him and ask for forgiveness. Many times we are so quick to judge but forget who is the ones that is doing the judging. I take myself for example I many times find myself judging others on how they should live their lives or how people should do certain things but we all fall short of God's glory. And I continue to pray that he helps me become a better person and not judge others but worry about my own life. So see we all have something to work on but isn't it amazing that we get to talk to God any time in prayer and ask him for his guideness and forgiveness. So just think about this for a moment as you lay back and focus on "Hump Day" and what Wednesday will bring. Take a moment and realize how fortunate we are to serve a God who forgives and who is loving no matter what walk of life or where we come from. He hears all prayers even on HUMP DAY!!! |
