I often wonder when do you say you are sorry to someone? So many have been trying to answer this question but few know the answer. See we all fall short and really don't mean what we say but sometimes people take what we say literally. Sometimes enough is enough and remember the old saying that if you don't stand up for yourself who else will. I have personally been through this for years wondering when to say no or enough is enough. See we sometimes do things we don't want to do but we do it anyway because of that other person and then you still hurt that person anyway. |

Well Morning All, Well today is a rainy day in Washington DC and it happens to be Wednesday what we call Hump Day. I guess they call it hump day because we are finally in the middle of the week after dealing with Monday and Tuesday. Well the dictionary defines "Hump Day" as the middle of a work week (Wednesday); used in the context of climbing a proverbial hill to get through a tough week. So what does that mean to me well it's almost friday... So anyway what does today bring for so many. Well after looking at the news this morning it seems to me the focus has shifted from killing Bin Laden to seeing pictures of his body. So many people have called out to the White House Authorities to release his pictures. This is absolutely crazy. We speak about being non- violent and teaching our kids the same and then you look up and we are asking to see the pain and death of another human being. Well for all of us as we know in another month or so we will totally forget all about this story and move on to the next one. That just happens to be the way that we are taught and it's such a shame. But what about those victims that died on that day in September. How do they live with the pain or hurt of a love one that they lost. Well the Bible teaches us that one day death and pain will be no more. So I indeed look forward to that day. Even though we know what the bible teaches us it seems to be so far away but the bible also teaches us to be faithful for that day will come. In 1John 1:9 it speaks about us being faithful and confessing our sins. So who does this apply to. Does it apply to a certain class of people or a certain religion. Well it states "Whomever confess his sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". So see this applies to everyone for the God we serve is a righteous and forgiving God. I know I may have gotten off the subject a bit but I wanted to share with you how we can come to him and ask for forgiveness. Many times we are so quick to judge but forget who is the ones that is doing the judging. I take myself for example I many times find myself judging others on how they should live their lives or how people should do certain things but we all fall short of God's glory. And I continue to pray that he helps me become a better person and not judge others but worry about my own life. So see we all have something to work on but isn't it amazing that we get to talk to God any time in prayer and ask him for his guideness and forgiveness. So just think about this for a moment as you lay back and focus on "Hump Day" and what Wednesday will bring. Take a moment and realize how fortunate we are to serve a God who forgives and who is loving no matter what walk of life or where we come from. He hears all prayers even on HUMP DAY!!!

Morning All, Well I woke up late last night to hear the news that Bin Laden had been capture and killed. This is indeed great news but after the essential shock I started to think should we glorify a humans death. Sure this man is a monster because of the hurt that he have caused so many Americas but should I be joyful of a humans death. Well my thoughts might be different from yours but I'm often reminded that only God judges people. Now I don't want to get to Churchie on you if that's a word but we need to be careful of what we think is correct in man's eyes. Now should the ones that caused us so much hurt and harm be happy for what they did. They believe that they did this as a service to the God they serve, so should we look at them differently. No matter what I believe things do happen for a reason and he takes care of things in due time. Now for all of us as Americans we do have to feel a little safer but we have to remember not to let our guards down because of the threat that Bin Laden followers will try to force on us as Americans. So today as you reflect on the past event of Sept 11th and today just think that another life was taken away no matter who it was and pray that one day we won't have to live in a violent world but one day have peace on earth forever. Now ask yourself is this a "Great News For Americans" and how do you think God views what happen!!

Well after the day I had yesterday I certainly couldn't wait until today. I went out with family last night to dinner and enjoyed myself. I got to sit back and enjoy myself and watch some games and have some fun after a long week. During my time sitting and having Dinner I mind wandered a little as I thought about all the things I needed to do leading up to the next couple of weeks. In June we have a Basketball Tournament that I need to prepare for. I'm also preparing for a move to Georgetown, Washington DC in the next week or so. |

Welcome to my new blog for "Growing Up A Witness". This is certainly an enjoyable time for me because I get to share my views about my books and answer so many questions that many may have. I plan on sharing my thoughts and ideas and look forward to you doing the same. So stay tune and hold on tight as the ride begins. Now lets get to our first subject on how domestic violence affects children. How are children affected by domestic violence? Have you ever wonder how domestic violence continue from one generation after another. |
